7 Pounder

Hallelujah we have a 7 pounder! Ezekiel is also downing 70ml bottles now, with a little nursing in between. Eden is also sleeping through the night again. We are all settling into our new normal, and totally smitten with our little man.
Our cardiologist, pediatrician, and home nurse all think he is doing exceptionally well. They are optimistic for Ezekiel's future. Only time, and God's grace, will tell. Until then the docs will be checking the collateral growth bi-annually , seeing the docs monthly, and we will be praying daily. Thank you for joining us in prayer for our son's heart.

Life is Good

I have never been so happy to be up at 4:00 AM... Ezekiel just chugged his entire bottle! The prayers are working, he is growing very well. Sister is also sleeping through the night again. Life is good.

It is Well for my Soul

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
This is the song that came to mind yesterday as we received word from the doctors and surgeons. We were told yesterday that at this point there are no surgical options for Ezekiel. The doctors do not believe that there is much of a chance for surgery in the future. We know that we serve the creator God that designed Ezekiel in this special way for a special reason. For now we are simply going to love this blessing and cherish each day. We may not know the future, but we know The One who holds the future. Our prayer is that His kingdom may be blessed and glorified through the life of our son. Continue to pray for us as our mommy and daddy hearts are hurting. Thank you all for your love and support this week.

And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.

Slowly progressing

Ezekiel is surpassing expectations. He started taking a bottle today and is slowly progressing. We still have to do the feeding tube for part of it, but I am getting pretty good at the process of feeding him through a tube  His vitals are steady with only a few episodes of fast breathing. Still not sure on the timeframe, but we're getting closer to coming home. Continue to pray for growth of his extra special collateral vessels, and less stress on his heart and lungs. We're not out of the woods yet, but as I told his doctors, we serve a really big God!
